Since his childhood, trees have filled Jason with a sense of awe and fascination that continues to this day. Working in the fields of arboriculture and forest ecosystem management since 1999, he found his true calling in returning to his home-town of Vancouver and working in the field of urban arboriculture. Jason completed his Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the University of British Columbia in 2006. In 2007, he founded Green Crown Arborworks with an intent to provide ethical tree care to residents and business in the Greater Vancouver area.
In addition to his accreditation as a Board Certified Master Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), Jason holds the ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification and is a member of the American Society of Consulting Arborists (ASCA) and a graduate of the ASCA Consulting Academy. He has also completed formal training in Emergency Readiness and High Angle Rescue, Arborist Technical Rigging, Technical Tree Felling, and Tree Climbing, Fall Protection and Work Positioning with Arboriculture Canada.
Kevin’s pathway to arboriculture began in British Columbia’s interior in the forest silviculture industry, working in some of Canada’s most remote and beautiful forests. This inspired a progression through horticultural work in landscape gardening and finally, urban arboriculture. Having long been interested in role of trees and sustainable green space in our urban settings, Kevin was one of the first arborists in BC to successfully complete the Industry Training Authority’s long awaited Arborist Apprenticeship program.
Kevin is a certified arborist with the ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) and is a Certified Arborist Technician with the Industry Training Authority of BC.
